The Monks of Drepung Gomang

As part of their American tour, Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India visited Moorestown, New Jersey, Aug. 19 through 21, offering a workshop, talks, chant, dance, music, debate, and a heart-felt celebration of loving kindness.  See my photos, journal, and a short amusing video at:

Most remarkable about this particular tradition in our time is the tolerance of practitioners. As Geshe (Teacher) Lobsang Dhondup said at the end of the day's celebration, all the founders of the world's great religions brought the same essential message of compassion and loving kindness.

As our parents planted the seed of love and compassion in all of us, so we should nurture and promote peace in the world. Amen!

Thanks to Rev. Dr. Carol Wells Lawson, Rev. Al Bennett, and the other leaders of the Center for Conscious Living in Moorestown, N.J., for making this enlightening visit and cultural offering possible.
