Confidence
Nothing inspires blind obedience like absolute authority and confidence. This is the key to many otherwise inexplicable religious and political movements.

Thank you for the truly inspiring article about Henry David Thoreau that you wrote for Qi magazine. I read it this morning at 5:00am while hearing the birds
chirping and feeling nature awakening. The model that you present of this great man would indeed be one to follow in today's hectic world of conflct and materiality. I have been practicing taichi for 15 years and feel that it tends to physically embody daoist principles that can then be reflected in one's daily life.
I would be interested in reading your articles about
Daoism and to know the status of your upcoming book on
Thoreau. Also I would like to know your opinion as to why so many great men and women of history were poets and musicians as well.
Thank You
David
